July Training Programme

See attached Training Programme for July.

Sunday 3rd July: Swimming Proficiency

If you wish to take your Basic Swimming Proficiency please bring your swimming kit along with you and arrange for parents to take you to Coventry Baths immediately after parade (they can wait there as it only takes 15mins max). All events and activities involving water require this basic level swimming qualification which is very simple to complete. Any questions, please email Miss Kelly for more info.

Come to our Presentation Day Parade and Garden Party at AIRBASE, 17 July 2011

Our squadron will be holding a 'Presentation Day and Parade' on Sunday 17 July 2011, hosted by Air Atlantique at AIRBASE, Coventry Airport. It will be an opportunity for the squadron to celebrate the achievements of all the cadets and staff through the academic year 2010/11; presenting certificates for classifications and qualifications received, and publicly presenting the trophies awarded previously at our Annual Dinner back in February.

As well as the parents and families of the cadets being present, the parade will take place in front of members of the public visiting AIRBASE – indeed, we shall be one of the attractions of the day!

The day will include the taking of a Squadron photograph, drill display, the launching of a special prize draw in aid of the squadron, and following the parade, a social 'garden party' during which food will also be available.

Dress will be No1A for visiting staff and cadets, No 1SD for service guests. We ask that our civilian guests and visitors dress 'smart casual' (shirts and trousers/slacks, or ladies equivalent).

Arrival for guests will be between 1030 and 1100hrs, with the parade at around 1130 and the garden party continuing into the afternoon. Parking will be available at the AIRBASE car park.

Fun Run - Sunday 5 June

Fun Run in Aid of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) Sunday 5 June 2011 Following a successful (free!) visit to the WNAA at Coventry Airport earlier this year, we are repaying the favour by helping to support and raise money for this very worthwhile charity. The 5k Fun Run is being held at Stoneleigh Park (the venue for the last two Race-For-Life's) and there is option for all cadets to take part either running or walking. Therefore ALL cadets are required to attend and luckily as this falls between our normal parade times so no excuse! We will ALL be contributing the £5 entry fee AND offering our support to the organisers in the usual cadet ways. Arrive at Stoneleigh Park Main Gate at 1000hrs Check Google Maps for Directions Uniform: No3s (DPMs/Greens). Those wishing to run the course, bring trainers. Weather dependent kit: Suncream if looking hot (and plenty of water!) or waterproofs if looking thundery! Bring with you: Food & Drink, £5 entry fee. Race begins at 1100hrs therefore it is predicted you will be finished by 1300hrs however any volunteers to help onwards will be appreciated. This is not jut for cadets so bring family along either to take part or as supporters!
