Pre-Gliding Scholarship Training First for 84

Corporal James Burgess was the first cadet from 84 Squadron to attend the Regional Activity Centre at RAF Wyton to complete the Pre-Gliding Scholarship Training.

The one-day course entailed running through basic handling techniques of the aircraft, rules of the circuit and practical assessment on the Vigilant flight simulator taking the glider through the take off and landing procedures. Corporal Burgess will now await allocation to complete his scholarship at RAF Little Rissington. On return to the squadron, Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Nathan Adams presented him with his certificate of completion. Corporal Burgess said "it was an excellent for me opportunity to get hands-on experience in the glider and I learnt a lot from the day. I am really looking forward to getting back in the glider for real and continuing my training. My goal is to be able to fly solo before I pass my driving test!"

Well Done Corporal, the first of many we hope!
