Open Evening: Wednesday 10 Sepetmber 2014

84 Squadron are holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 10 September from 1930 - 2100hrs for all interested new recruits. Our next intake will then begin formally on Wed 17 September (1900-2130hrs)

If you are aged between 12yrs (& in year 8 at school) and 17yrs then you could become part of one of the most dynamic and vibrant Squadrons the Air Training Corps has to offer!
84 Squadron meet twice weekly on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings offering a whole host of activities from academic lessons in aviation based subjects, sports, leadership training and in the technical aspects of drill (marching and static manoeuvres) . This is all combined with taking part in Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, gaining BTEC level qualifications as well as offering young people the opportunities to gain flying experience up in the air!

If you would like to find out more, or would like to come to pick up a joining pack, please come along to the Open Evening.

2014 Dining-In Night

On Friday 26 September 2014, 84 Squadron will host its annual Dining-In Night. The event allows the Squadron to celebrate the fantastic achievements of the cadets over the last 12 months, to thank friends of the Squadron who have recently assisted the unit and also includes the tradition of dining-out long-standing members who have recently left.

The Event this year will be back at the Newbold Comyn Arms, Leamington Spa, CV32 4EU from 1845hrs to 2230hrs. Dress for the occasion will be Tuxedo or Evening Dress. Alternatively, Cadet Interim Mess Dress may be worn - uniform shoes, trousers or skirt and beret but with a WHITE shirt and black BOW TIE.

We look forward to sharing the awards and presentations from the evening in pictures after the event.

Going for Gold!

A HUGE Congratulations to the group of 84 Squadron cadets who have completed their practice Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award Expedition in Yorkshire Dales and Qualifying Expedition in Durham Dales, all within the space of 3 weeks!

The expeditions were very challenging, not only with navigation in remote areas and hard terrain, but also with the challenging weather, extreme heat, low visibility, driving rain and fighting off midges.

They have done the Squadron, their instructors and themselves proud and are the first group in 84 Squadron's recent history to complete an expedition to Gold standard!!

They are an inspiration to others on Squadron, showing what determination and focus can achieve!
