October Training Programme

Please find below details for October parades.

Coming up this month:
  • NCO Training - Sun 5 October: To welcome the newly promoted Cadet NCOs we are holding a team building and training session. There is NO Parade this Sunday for the main Squadron, NCOs only.
  • Wed 15 October - RAes Lecture: The next in the series of Winter Programme from the Royal Aeronautical Engineering Society held at Warwick University. This month's talk is titled "Ejector Seats - State of the Art". Cadets need to sign up in the Sqn if they wish to attend.
  • Sat 25 October - Air Experience Flying: Our first slots back at Cosford to experience flying the Grob Tutor following a delayed halt due to engineering issues and then resurfacing at Cosford runway! There are only 8 slots so comeptition will be high for places. More details on how we will select cadets to attend coming shortly.
  • RAF Boulmer Camp - 18-25 Oct: Two cadets have already claimed places for this week long expereince camp at an active RAF Station. There are still 2 male places available if anyone is still interested? Please let us know ASAP. [note it does not fall within Coventry schools half-term, a letter can be provided to support your application for time off during term if required]
  • Cyprus Camp 16-25 Oct: One very lucky Cadet, Thomas Franklin will be departing the UK shores to attend a week long overseas camp at RAF Akrotiri in Cyrus. The group will visit different sections of the station as well as local tourist attractions. We wish him all the best for the visit and hope he can call in at our full-time counterparts, 84 Squadron who are based out there!

Looking ahead to November:

  • Sun 2 November: Visit to National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. We would like to take the whole Squadron (or as many as possible) to celebrate and learn about Remembrance, what it means for us as individuals and as members of the Air Cadets. Timings will be slightly longer than normal Sunday parade but we expect to be back approx 1430hrs. Costs TBC as we hope to get a training grant therefore the coach costs would be covered. Entry is free.
  • Sun 9 November: Remembrance Sunday - A Complusory parade for whole squadron to attend. This year we will have a small contingent at Baginton to support to local parade and the remainder of the squadron will all join with the Wing in Coventry city centre. More details coming soon.
