On Wednesday 12 August, Officer-in-Charge Flying Officer Rosie Chapman presented Cadet Georgia Roddis with her Corporal rank slides and invited her to join the Cadet NCO team at 84 (Coventry Airport) Squadron.

Cadet Roddis, aged just 15 years and 9 months, joined the Air Training Corps in February 2013 and ever since her first day has shown a high level of maturity and dedication which is exemplary for everyone around her. She has tried, and succeeded in, many different activities from completing her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award to Water Water Kayaking taster sessions and to flying high above the countryside during an Air Experience Flight. Back on the ground and at the unit she is always in attendance with a consistently high standard of uniform and a proud smile encouraging her peers to give new activities a go, setting a strong and approachable attitude for cadets and staff alike.

In June 2015, Georgia attended the Wing Junior NCO Leadership and Development Course at RAF Cosford. Over the weekend the cadets were split into syndicates to work alongside new faces whilst tackling a range of practical and classroom based challenges designed to test their knowledge, skills and leadership abilities. Throughout all the activities the staff observed and made notes on their progress resulting in an overall score and recommendation for future developments. Cadet Roddis shone from the first moment she arrived and, unsurprisingly, she came away with a Distinction overall and won the Best in Syndicate Award for her group.

Flying Officer Rosie Chapman told the cadets on parade "I am immensely proud of Cadet Roddis over the last few years, she has put so much into her time at the Squadron and as a result she is getting the recognition and promotion she deserves"
