Coventry Fun Run - Done and Dusted

On Sunday 04th October, the Squadron helped event organisers with the 2015 Coventry Fun Run in and around Memorial Park, Coventry. Cadets, Staff, Civilian Committee Members and parents took part in activities to assist the smooth running of the event.

The Squadron were stationed around one of the major road blockades which meant adults marshalling and assisting with re-routing the traffic. They were also stationed on main corners of the route to guide the competitors around the gruelling course. Meanwhile, cadets set up and manned a very successful water point handing out bottles to the thousands of runners who passed on their way to the finish line.

Luckily for both helpers and runners, the weather held out and brought a perfect Autumnal day with sunshine and warmth. The morning passed without any incidents and the cadets did the Squadron proud in their slick and professional approach to the tasks they were given. In support and recognition of their assistance, the Squadron will receive donation of £216 which will be put into funds towards training events and a Christmas social at the end of the year!

Thank you to the wonderful team who took part today.
