So Long, Farewell to Mr Mohammed!

Wed 30th September was the final parade for Mr Ivor Mohammed, a Civilian Instructor at 84 Squadron, marking the end of a 60 year career with the Air Training Corps.

Ivor has been involved with the Corps since he joined as a cadet in the 1950s. Since then he progressed through the cadet ranks, became an adult instructor and then joined the uniformed staff as a Squadron Warrant Officer. On gaining his commission he joined the Officer Ranks and was based at Bishop Ullathorne Squadron before eventually resigning his commission and transferring to Coventry Airport as a Civilian Instructor.

Ivor has always had a passion for the cadets, demonstrated by his immense length of service and dedication to the squadrons he has served. In particular, Ivor was a keen modeller and happily shared his skills with the cadets assisting them with their annual model and diorama competitions.

Unfortunately as all good things come to an end sadly Ivor decided that it was time to depart but his final comments to the cadets was as ever inspirational and encouraging. As a leaving gift, Ivor was presented with a set of Air Training Corps cufflinks which we hope he will wear with pride! We will all miss Ivor at the unit and I know there are plenty within Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing that would also like to wish him well. Good luck for the Future Ivor!
