Supporting the Coventry Half Marathon

On Sunday 19th March, Cadets and staff from 84 (Coventry Airport) and 163 (Coventry Phoenix) Squadrons were on hand to support the Coventry Half-marathon race by manning the bag deposit stands for all the race runners.

Cadets were there from the crack of dawn to organise the runner's bags into allocated numerical sections and then as each runner completed the race they reunited the bags with their owners. The job is non-stop and with over 2000 racers it was busy task making sure they didn't get mixed up.

During the morning Cadet Sergeant Georgia Roddis was interviewed for Coventry BBC Radio speaking about her involvement with the Air Cadets and their sterling effort during the events. The group were also lucky enough to meet a few of the city team mascots including the Sting from the Coventry Wasps!

Feedback from the race participants, the public and event organisers was really positive and praised the exceptional smart and diligent approach the cadets took in completing the task.
