 Race For Life

On Sunday 2nd July in a very warm and windy Stoneleigh Park, 84 (Coventry Airport) Squadron supported the local Race For Life with four staff and thirteen Cadets helping run the race which raises money for Cancer Research UK.

After a briefing by the event staff, we split into two groups with Warrant Officer Parker and Sergeant Bielakovski and five Cadets manning the water station for the 10k runners, and Warrant Officer Raske and Civilian Instructor Dudley and the remaining Cadets helping at the start/finish line. Four lucky Cadets were given the honour of firing the start cannons to begin the race. At the finish line we greeted the runners as they completed their 5k or 10k runs and handed them their medals, water and a brioche.
It was a long and busy day with all the Cadets getting into the spirit of the event and supporting the runners during and after their race.
